Bandar Utama 3 or BU3 is one of the earlier phases to be completed between 1991 and 1996 in Bandar Utama.

SJK(C) Puay Chai 2, Bandar Utama Community Centre, Central Park Bandar Utama, 1 Utama, and SK BU4 are just outside of BU3. There is 1 community park in BU3. The community parks have a badminton court, playground, jogging track, and field.
Residents and visitors can enter into BU3 through Jalan BU 3/1 and Jalan BU 3/2. Residents can also walk to 1 Utama.
